By this time it is pretty clear that if you need, or just want a musical instrument it is possible to find it used for a much more affordable price. Though I have found that instruments like the Oboe can still be rather pricey when bought in used condition for instance and new Howarth S10 oboe can cost around 1,598.52 USD where as buying the same exact model and brand used could cost about 1,166.58. It is not a huge difference but it is a savings of over $400. You can look into some less dependable brands like the Selmer, and pay around $400 for a used one. It all depends on the amount you want to invest and how important quality is to you.
